Lívia Machado Costa

Lívia Machado Costa is pursuing a PhD in Global Studies at the University of California, Irvine, where she researches how Chinese climate goals may influence soybean and beef supply chains in the Brazilian Amazon region, with a specific focus on how companies and indigenous communities may negotiate, contest and resist to new arrangements in the global food systems. She co-founded Shumian 书面 and has worked as a Research Assistant at the BRICS Policy Center and as an Editorial Assistant at Diálogo Chino.
